Meet some of the people of the team.
Meet Diana, Argus’ Document Control Leader. In her role, she ensures that technical documents are created, reviewed, distributed, and archived in a systematic and accessible manner. Argus manufactures smart devices to keep people safe from fire every second of every day and each product needs to be supported by rich and accurate documentation, from bill of materials to performance certifications. When asked about her favourite part about working for Argus, she replied “Working at Argus is dynamic and I’m always exposed to new opportunities of growth; each phase of production process is tracked and supported by specific documents and so I have a full understanding on how to get to a final product. In my 10 years in Argus I’ve been often involved in projects where I can take on new tasks and expand my skills.”
Meet Francisco, Process Engineering Operator for Methods-Time Measurement Department. “My focus is design solutions to increase efficiency of workspaces and create ergonomic and functional workstations” he says. As a member of the MTM team, Francisco was at the forefront of Argus’s response to COVID-19, implementing new safety measures for assembly and packaging workstations and ensuring maximum protection for production operators since the start of the pandemic. Francisco enjoys getting to work on cool and innovative solutions and tools and recently he has been enjoying getting exposure to 3D printing, realising moulds now in use in the production process. Outside of the office, Francisco can usually be found in the gym, hiking on the mountains, exploring the local nature and camping.
Meet Massimiliano, Mechanics Development Leader. In his role, he oversees the mechanical design development of all the Argus wireless and wired devices. He takes a product from start to finish, from prototyping to testing, and design for functionality, aesthetics and reliability. As product expert, keeping abreast of the latest technology trends is integral to what Massimiliano does. “Argus is always looking at the latest technology and how we can use them in our processes. It is an incredibly exciting place to be and I invest efforts in ensuring I stay up-to-date with new techniques” he says. As a mechanical designer, he feels comfortable with working on cutting-edge products that have a real impact on safety in multiple applications. Before joining Argus, Massimiliano was required to travel a lot while now he can better balance the demands of his job with spending time with his family. “When I’m able to meet family and personal needs, I’m more efficient in my work. I am glad that I have found a place to have both – career and family” he says.
Meet Maria Laura, Operator on the Semifinished-products team. She is involved in product manufacturing from the very early stages. In her daily job she works with circuit boards, one of the key components of every fire safety device. Maria Laura started at Argus without knowing a lot about fire and detection technology. “I saw it as an opportunity to start and learn something completely new” she says. “Not only have I learned a lot about wired and wireless fire protection, but I discovered a fast-paced environment, a perfect fit to develop myself both personally and professionally. I am now empowered to utilize my knowledge to contribute to creation of life-safety products”. Maria Laura devotes all her efforts to her three children, with whom she loves to spend time when she is not working.. She is involved in product manufacturing from the very early stages. Meet Ashrafi, member of the Test & Sustaining Engineering team. In his role, he designs, develops, and executes test plans for the Argus wireless devices and analysis and reports on measurement results. “Argus is a place where you never get bored, there is always something to learn and space for improvement. It’s a place where you can apply your ideas” he says. He enjoys working at Argus because he participates in projects that contribute to the creation of wireless fire safety device that keep people safe from fire. In his spare time, Ashrafi enjoys outdoor activities.
Meet Diana, Marketing and Communications Manager. She deals with marketing activities which can include anything from social media to direct mail, from website to tradeshows. She joined Argus in March 2020 and what motivated her to join us was the opportunity to work in an international environment and in a life-saving technology company, manufacturing smart devices that keep people safe from fire every second of every day. “I enjoy the fact that our products can have a positive impact on people and communities around the world” she says. “Argus is a fast-paced environment, the company is always looking at the latest technology and this makes all of my work dynamic and different from day to day. New product releases, new solutions for our customers… I like being part of such an active environment.” When not at work, she is an avid lover of the outdoors, whether it is city life, enjoying the sea, or hiking on the mountains.
Meet Lorenzo, our Product Manager. He is responsible for product development, managing our products throughout their lifecycle, from conception through release to market and beyond. Working closely with our sales, marketing, and engineering teams, Lorenzo contributes to the success of our products in the market. “I find my work in product management very rewarding. It’s not as simple as defining what needs to be built, developing it and then launching it: the role involves uncovering a pain or desire within a group of stakeholders and work with them to develop a solution to it. As a product manager, I can leverage my technical background while developing commercial skills” he says. For a person who enjoys creating things from scratch, like Lorenzo, this job brings a lot of satisfaction. When he’s not developing innovative products at work, Lorenzo does it at home: he recently started a new hobby, working with wood to create nice pieces of furniture.
Meet Anuška, International Sales Manager & Sales Admin Lead. Anuška and her Sales Admin team deal with customer enquiries, providing sales quotes, processing orders, creating and updating records in ERP system, and liaising with procurement, sales and logistics to ensure a great customer service. Each day brings something new in their office and Anuška enjoys the opportunity to be involved in different projects where she can take on new tasks and collaborate with various people, customers or colleagues. “I have worked for Argus for 10 years now. In this time Argus have helped me to develop from a junior support to Sales Admin Lead and now International Sales Manager. In this role, my duties include managing sales, planning and taking care of the relationship between our business and our international customers” she says. When not working, Anuska spends her time on numerous hobbies, which include gardening and singing in a choir.
Alberto, Quality Manager, is responsible for the overall quality of the product supplied from Argus’ manufacturing facility as well as the development, implementation, and maintenance of the site’s Quality Systems. Alberto works closely with other departments to develop a quality culture and ensure that quality goals and needs are met. Argus’ smart devices keep people safe from fire every second of every day and quality management plays a central role across all our processes to ensure our products always meet the highest possible standard.
The thing Alberto enjoys most about his job is the Argus innovative mindset. “Argus as an employer is highly motivating. It is an ever-changing environment, always keeping pace with the latest technical developments, where you are always challenged to raise the bar and insist on the highest standards,” he says. “In over 10 year as a Quality Manager, I had plenty of opportunities to expand my horizon and expand my area of responsibility. In my role I do my best to contribute to company’s success and I feel that I am surrounded by an excellent team, both form a human and professional point of view.” Outside of work, Alberto enjoys sports and activities with his family. His favourite hobby is fishing, that allows him spending time in nature and relaxing while admiring the sea.
Daniela is one of our longest serving employee, in Argus for 14 years. In her Argus journey she covered different roles and today she is part of our Sales Administration team. In her duties, she is in contact with customers and suppliers from all over the world, receiving and processing orders, managing various administrative tasks and liaising with other departments to ensure efficient handling of sales orders. She is proud of where we are now as a team. Argus develops wireless product to protect people from fire since its conception and today is one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of wireless smoke detection and alarm devices. “Argus brings innovative products to market that are ahead of their time” she says “and it’s an inspiring work environment to be in. Personally, what makes me happy, is the possibility to work with colleagues, customers and suppliers from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, which makes the everyday experience an amazingly enriching one”. When not at work, Daniela spends her time in different sports, from tennis to working out at the gym. She loves flying and seeing the world from a different perspective, but she clarifies this doesn’t mean she has her head in the clouds 😊
Giuseppe is Engineering Sustaining & Manufacturing Support Leader. He and his team ensure technical support on the thousands of Argus’ products manufactured and installed every year. They focus on device reliability supporting product development from conceptual stages all the way to production and commissioning. He says “We test devices and conduct simulations and analysis to ensure Argus’ products are reliable and competitive over time. We provide technical assistance both externally and internally, answering technical questions from our customers but also supporting the production department, developing new test machines and processes to keep pace with the latest technical developments.”
He is proud to be part of a company that make smart devices to keep people safe from fire and some indications suggest that he has passed on this passion to his five years old oldest son, who often says that when he grows up he wants to be a firefighter.
Meet Alessandra, HR Business Partner. In her role, Alessandra works to align human resources strategies with the needs of the business, managing a vast variety of tasks (such as HR projects and processes, administrative assignments, recruitments etc). “I find the HR function a dynamic and inspiring place to be because I work with people and for people. Working in an international company like Argus really gives you a lot of opportunities to learn and grow over time. Everyone is encouraged to show initiative and take ownership” she says. Outside of work Alessandra enjoys mountain trekking, travelling and gardening.
Meet Mauro, our Technical Director. In his role, he leads the engineering department and oversees the activities for the development, implementation and release of new products. The activities are very varied, which he loves, from research for new technical solutions, to products enhancements and redesign to looking after all compliance and certifications’ requirements when new products are fully developed and ready to be marketed. The successful completion of his department’s objectives is possible only through structured teamwork and collaboration, within the team and with the other company’s functions, from Supply Chain to Sales. When asked what keeps him engaged with his work, Mauro says “Providing concrete solutions to protect people from fire all over the world. I love that we are an innovative company always thinking ahead with the customer in mind”. In his free time he likes stay up to date with everything that is technological and sometimes he takes a long ride out on his motorbike.
