We are pleased to introduce a significant advancement in our Taurus wireless platform as part of Argus commitment to continuous product improvement.
In our ongoing efforts to enhance product performance, we have evolved the design of the Taurus detectors’ series, including its OEM derivatives, effective from second week of January. This update specifically addresses the balance between smoke detection capabilities and the prevention of spurious body access, such as dust and insects, within the optical chamber. The modification includes a refined insect screen, as illustrated in the before-and-after images below:
In conjunction with the plastic part modification mentioned above, we have introduced a new Emitter LED that produces an exceptionally focused emitter beam. The cross-section snapshot of the old and new chambers is provided below:
This improvement not only maintains sensitivity to airborne particulates, such as smoke, but also enhances resilience against spurious bodies like settled dust and small fibers adhering to the chamber walls.
We are pleased to confirm that this enhancement has undergone extensive testing and has been approved according to EN54 standards. Relevant CPR certificates will be amended on the same CPR numbers. No major action is required from our OEM customers, but we kindly request that they update their document databases with the latest release.
The affected product codes are as follows:
• TW-DT-01 Taurus Class P Heat Detector and cross-listed versions
• TW-DO-01 Taurus Dual Optical Smoke Detector and cross-listed versions
• TW-DM-01 Taurus Multi-criteria Detector and cross-listed versions
